Thanks to to addition of some unexpected deadlines on an already overflowing pile, postings have been a bit light this week. I thought Friday would be my big, bad, blog day, but instead I'm going to play babysitter for my two nieces. Or is it nieces-in-law? English needs better structure to indicate family -- aunt, uncle and cousin just can't do all the heavy lifting themselves. Anyway, I may get around to catching up later today, depending on how many showings of The Incredibles I set up in the living room (Bad babysitter!) or if we decide to spend some time in the playground around the corner (Good babysitter!).
I should, however, mention that I'm just about officially over the Democratic nomination process. As the wheels of the machine slowly but surely grind away at Barack Obama, as well as the last, lingering spark of idealism I had left after these last two administrations. Watching Bill and Hillary Clinton these past few days have done nothing but strengthen my resolve that they should never get close to the White House again. The "Obama [Hearts] Reagan" attack, which plays to the pathologically Pavlovian response of many progressives and liberals, is just the latest example of mendacity in motion. The willingness of some Democrats to roll over for a tummy pat from the Clintons is appalling.
You know those dreams where you're in a train or a car or an airplane and it's going really fast and you know it's going to crash but you're helpless to do anything about it? In a dream, you wake in time to avoid it.
I hope Democrats wake up soon.
